Meet indigo forever, the Los Angeles-based duo consisting of producer Wxmell (Maxwell Banchi, he/him) and singer-songwriter wsteaway (Tea Wise, they/he). Utilizing expressive lyricism and euphoric instrumentation, the pair dedicated two years to crafting their self-titled debut album, indigo forever. The record is a reflective memoir focusing on themes such as familial trauma, love, and relationships–whether that be romantic, platonic, or with the self. 

The album is a perfect blend of their love for electronic and rock, referred to as their self-coined genre, emo dance music. Their inspirations range from the likes of Porter Robinson, Death Cab for Cutie, Teen Suicide, and Skrillex. 

Each indigo forever release features their characters, Gen and iRi, who play as visual identifiers for the project as well as extensions of the artists themselves. 

By pairing atmospheric production with introspective songwriting, indigo forever have constructed a blissfully melancholic project. The album carries a refreshing sound that brings an emotional experience when witnessed in a live setting, as seen at their album release show in October 2024, and their most recent performance at Emo Nite in January 2025.
