Dexter and The Moonrocks

Dexter and The Moonrocks

Hailing from Abilene, Texas, Dexter and The Moonrocks have swiftly carved a niche in the music landscape with their fusion of Southern Alternative, red-dirt country, and alternative rock, a style fans fondly refer to as “Western Space Grunge”. The ensemble, featuring James Tuffs (lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist), Ryan Anderson (lead guitarist), Ty Anderson (bassist), and Fox (drummer), weaves influences from Foo Fighters to Whiskey Myers and Rainbow Kitten Surprise, crafting a sound that's both thunderous and introspective.

The band's early success was marked by their debut single "Couch" and their self-titled EP, showcasing tracks like “Where I Steer” and “Behave,” that resonated for their raw storytelling and dynamic energy. As they evolved, so did their musical palette, incorporating inspirations from diverse artists, leading to the deeply reflective singles “Birds and The Bees” and "Autopilot." Their electrifying live performances, characterized by punkish vigor, have secured them a special place in the hearts of their audience, evidenced by their ticket sales in first time markets and a formidable online presence.

In a significant leap forward, Dexter and The Moonrocks recently signed with Severance Records, an arm of Big Loud, reflecting their growing industry stature. This transition brought new opportunities, including the re-release of "She Likes Girls," a track originally debuted as a demo. Reproduced this time with the backing of the music industry, this version of "She Likes Girls" promises to maximize its impact, delving into themes of love, loss, and the pain and frustration of being abandoned for perceived 'greener pastures,' encouraging listeners to voice their anguish over the cruelty of such relationships and the self-destructive behaviors that ensue.

A key element of Dexter and The Moonrocks' appeal lies in their connection with fans from all walks of life, encapsulated in their quote: "We don't care if your boots are cowboy, or combat." This statement reflects their inclusive ethos and the eclectic nature of their fan base, mirroring the diversity in their music.

As they approach the release of "She Likes Girls," Dexter and The Moonrocks continue to redefine the boundaries of their genre. Their journey from the heart of Texas to the forefront of Western Space Grunge is not just a tale of musical evolution, but a testament to their commitment to authenticity and connection with fans across the globe.
